Cheval is two associations in Lutz, not one paint list. Cheval East, home to The Club at Cheval, is the Cheval Property Owners Association. Cheval West, along the TPC course, is the Cheval West Community Association. A color that is printed for one is not automatic permission for the other.
Exterior paint on a Cheval house is an exterior painting job after that association says the colors are approved. Westchase HOA painting guidelines are a different community.
Cheval East: the published Sherwin-Williams schemes
Cheval East posts an exterior color sheet, Version 1, April 2016, at chevaleast.com. The sheet says the colors on the page are not true representations. You have to match them to the manufacturer’s samples.
The Sherwin-Williams block is titled for all roof colors in Cheval East except Biarritz Village. Each scheme is body, then trim, then front door.
| Scheme | Body | Trim | Front door |
|---|---|---|---|
| TM-1-SW | SW 7567 Natural Tan | SW 7034 Status Bronze | SW 7013 Ivory Lace |
| TM-2-SW | SW 7043 Worldly Gray | SW 7004 Snowbound | SW 6991 Black Magic |

The same PDF also carries older Porter schemes. Those codes live on the sheet. This page does not retype a second palette that the scan breaks into fragments. If the house is on a Porter scheme, pull that page of the PDF and take the chip to the store.
Approved door colors printed on that sheet include SW 6993 Black of Night, SW 7006 Extra White, SW 6328 Fireweed, SW 6468 Hunt Club, and SW 6179 Artichoke. Natural wood stains listed there are mahogany, cherry, walnut, and pecan. Door stains permitted for any scheme on the sheet: deep ebony, double espresso, Jacobean, light salmon, natural, and pickling white. The sheet also says a door may be the body color or the trim color from the scheme.
What Cheval East wants before the crew starts
The Cheval Property Owners Association architectural form is posted at chevaleast.com. The owner agrees not to begin the improvement until the Architectural and Landscaping Review Committee sends written approval. Painting is one of the items on that form.
The office address on the form is 3939 Cheval Blvd., Lutz, FL 33558. The phone on the form is 813-949-6058.
Biarritz Village is the exception named on the color sheet. If the house is in that village, do not assume TM-1 through TM-9 apply. Ask the association which sheet covers that village before a color is submitted.
Cheval West: ARC first, colors on the portal
Cheval West describes its Architectural Review Committee as five volunteer residents who review exterior changes. Homeowners submit an ARC form before work begins. The association says the form is on the member portal, and governing documents are there too. That is chevalwest.com.
A public scheme table like Cheval East’s April 2016 sheet was not on the Cheval West pages reviewed for this guide. Do not copy the East codes onto a West house. Pull the West form and the colors that portal actually lists.
Cheval West also has a Fine Review Committee for appeals of fines, including roofs and other exterior upkeep. That committee is not the paint approval. The ARC is the approval.
What the painter needs from a Cheval owner
For Cheval East, the submittal is the scheme number, the body, the trim, and the door, taken from the current sheet, plus written ALRC approval before a color change starts. For Cheval West, it is the ARC approval and the colors that approval names.
The crew paints the approved colors. The association decides which colors those are.
Biarritz Village and the Porter sheet
The Sherwin-Williams schemes TM-1 through TM-9 are titled for all roof colors in Cheval East except Biarritz Village. A house in that village does not inherit those nine schemes. Ask the association which sheet covers Biarritz before a color goes on the form.
The same PDF still carries older Porter schemes. This guide does not retype them, because the scan breaks that palette into fragments. If the house is already on a Porter scheme, pull that page of the PDF and take the chip to the store. Write the village name on the form. A submittal that uses TM-1 through TM-9 for a Biarritz house is the wrong sheet, and the committee cannot match it to the village exception the color page already names.

Door colors Cheval East already printed
The April 2016 sheet lists door colors that can be used with the schemes: SW 6993 Black of Night, SW 7006 Extra White, SW 6328 Fireweed, SW 6468 Hunt Club, and SW 6179 Artichoke. A door may also be the body color or the trim color from the chosen scheme.
Wood stains on that sheet are mahogany, cherry, walnut, and pecan. Door stains the sheet allows for any scheme are deep ebony, double espresso, Jacobean, light salmon, natural, and pickling white. Bring the scheme number and the door code to the estimate together. If the door is staying the body color or the trim color from that scheme, say so, because the crew then uses the body or trim gallon instead of a third door color.

East approval and West approval
Cheval East wants the scheme number, the body, the trim, and the door from the current sheet, plus written approval from the Architectural and Landscaping Review Committee before a color change starts. The form is posted at chevaleast.com, document 74. The office on that form is 3939 Cheval Blvd., Lutz, FL 33558. The phone on the form is 813-949-6058.
Cheval West wants the ARC form from the member portal, and only the colors that approval names. Five volunteer residents review exterior changes. There is no public table like the East sheet, so the East codes stay on East houses. The Fine Review Committee hears appeals of fines. It does not approve the paint. On either side of Cheval, the crew starts a color change after the written approval is in hand. The East form says the owner will not begin until the Architectural and Landscaping Review Committee sends that approval. West uses the same sequence with the portal form: approval first, then the dates.

Houses in this part of Lutz are also on the Cheval area page. Call (813) 320-8710 or request an estimate after the approval is in hand.
